I'll get one when it's $200-$300. Wi-Fi only.

Translation: I'm a cheap-ass Canadian with an inferiority complex and I like to cross dress when cameras are around.
On my iPhone now. iPad is fancy but isn't practical until 3GS model comes out. Although, it wad ridiculouslly fast. Even when 3GS comes out, still not practical. Doubt it will hurt Apple, but I don't see a huge jump in stock price as a result. Guess we'll find out!!!
Translation: I can't afford one so I don't like them. I also hate puppies and long walks on the beach.
By the way I think you meant 3G, not 3GS.

I only see it useful to browse the web while watching TV and I know the price will come down, so why not wait?

Wireless connectivity still sucks cock, no matter as what you brand it.

What can't I do on my BlackBerry that I would be able to (and want to) do on an iPad?
The short answer is nothing.

The only application I find useful to me on iPad is Safari. I would like to use it to surf while on the couch. Unfortunately, that's not worth $500 to me.
I'd use my BlackBerry for everything else, which handles email, IM, calls, calendar etc. much better.

I still watch TV connected to an appleTV, which gets its network via Time Capsule. Music is streamed within the apartment to other speakers through Airport Express. I go running with an iPod and am typing this via Mac OS X.
Plus I sell themes for BlackBerry on the side that look like iPhone

the marketplace will figure out the uses for the iPad, not Apple. Unless I'm not mistaken, the "marketplace" is rather dictated to by Apple, being that the Apple Store is rather owned, operated, moderated, and advertised by and as Apple.
Edit: Every wi-fi product I've used has had poor wi-fi connectivity. Whether it's the access point (Linksys, D-Link, Apple, Netgear, 2wire) or a device (computer/PCI card, laptop/PCMCIA, laptop/internal, iPod Touch, Wii, Nintendo DS, etc)... they've all had poor communication quality. Whether at work, on the road, or at home. Whether mobile or stationary. The signal quality goes up and down, the communication quality generally stays poor. Hell, right now, my iPod Touch is sitting 5 feet from my wireless access point and it has only one bar of signal and the connection cuts out frequently.

Are you sure you don't have an alien tracking device surgically implanted in your body somewhere interfering with the signal?
Unless I'm not mistaken, the "marketplace" is rather dictated to by Apple, being that the Apple Store is rather owned, operated, moderated, and advertised by and as Apple.
Apple operates its own retail channels yes, just like everyone else, but what does that have to do with the end user?
P.S. While the iTunes "App Store" is a figurative walled garden it's not Apple writing all the applications. Apple just simply hates porn.

Kane - Is your experience more or less in the same location? Perhaps there is a significant amount of interference. It could come from a large number of sources including your microwave, which often kills WiFi when on.

Kane - Is your experience more or less in the same location? Perhaps there is a significant amount of interference. It could come from a large number of sources including your microwave, which often kills WiFi when on. Whether at work, on the road, or at home. Whether mobile or stationary.
Let's see...
At home? Check. At work? Check. At restaurants in my area? Check. In the Aeros' practice area? Check. In the break room at work? Check. In the tech office at work? Check. At my aunt's place in Phoenix? Check. At my aunt's place in San Diego? Check. At my uncle's place in Los Angeles? Check. In various other restaurants and homes on the I-10 Fwy between Houston and L.A.? Check.
Nope, I don't consider myself to be more or less in the same location. However, I don't doubt there's lots of interference... there's at least 8 or 9 other wifi signals visible from where I'm sitting; there's 5 at work, and there were plenty at each my aunt's and uncle's. As for on the road... perhaps you're right, perhaps it's the microwaves that fast food uses.
Or, perhaps, it's just the fact that wifi is complete shit and really is not reliable for anything truly useful to me.
As the days go on, more and more people switch to wireless. As the days go on, there will be more and more interference. As the days go on, current wifi will be more and more unreliable.
I'm just extremely disappointed that Apple doesn't want to allow iPhone/iPod/iPad Internet tethering via USB connection. Maybe then I might not complain about it too much.

I feel you, Kane. What bugs me more are these archaic telephone networks we're forced to use. I swear, I press 'call,' I expect it to start calling. I may just be paranoid, but I swear my iPhone will not actually start calling until it's taken long enough for me to pull the phone away from my ear and look at the screen again to make sure I actually pressed call. Does that make sense?
I press call. I put phone to ear. I wait. I wait. I wait. I think: "wtf." I look at the phone. It starts calling. You know? Like, don't fucking bullshit me. Don't tell me you're calling if you're not. Or play some sort of tone that tells me "yeah, you've pressed call, we haven't actually called yet or for whatever reason you must wait before we call" Don't just sit there acting exactly as you would if I didn't press call.
Ah. That feels good to get out.
But the iPad! You KNOW as soon as they make a covering that allows you to take it into the shower, you will buy one. All I want to do is browse C-M forums underwater. Is that too much to ask?

Personally, I don't have any issues with Wi-Fi at home or work. At home I use a Time Capsule.

All in all, telecommunications industry is a big beast with tons of rules, regulations, deregulations, standards, proprietaries, and all kinds of other shit all designed to make you angry.
