But I tell nobody this, because I do not know how to fix computers. I don't even know how to USE windows aside from the intuitive (which isn't very much)
Today I tried to share a 2 gig file I downloaded on my iMac to my room mates Windows Vista laptop. So I go to Sharing in system prefs, turn on file sharing, make sure my public folder is shared, and make sure the file is in the public folder.
Great. I check with my other room mates ibook. E Z P Z, my imac is listed and all is gravy.
I load up Vista and I'm immediately lost. I make sure file sharing is enabled, and I go to the network panel where my imac should be listed. It's not listed. I try to connect to afp://xx.xx.xx.xx/ where the x's are my IP in Internet Explorer. No go.
I give up. I look like a fucking idiot with a stupid piece of paper hanging on my wall.
