Yes, I'm fully aware I need another 4GB of RAM very soon. I just spent all my money on a 6-drive ZFS NAS, which is awesome btw. How's btrfs treating you Chad?
you know it feels like there is more overhead both on disk hits and processor. I use azureus with another java application called ipblock which is a peerguardian equivalent so even with 4gb ram I'm swapping just the slightest bit and as soon as I start swapping latency with the desktop hits. ext4 with encryption never did that. The only extra overhead I have enabled is transparent zlib compression.
btrfs also has a tuning option to take better advantage of ssd's so I've been wanting one for a while.
Someday I'll get that Abstract folder sorted away, someday.

That's smcFanControl and it's used for controlling all the internal fan speeds.
